Well, today is my surgery! Specific things you can pray for that they find a vein to place the IV. I am a extremely hard stick. case and point yesterday I had an appointment to have a CT scan and a x-rays taken of my kidneys and bladder to check and see if I had any stones. In hindsight, I should’ve stayed in my wheelchair while they searched for a vein. Well instead they got me on the CT scan table and we’re looking for a good 10-15 minutes but felt more like an hour. They were unsuccessful in finding one! Know if it was a surgery or a procedure, they would get the x-ray team for Vanteen or using ultrasound. They didn’t have any of those. I told them we can reschedule because I’m not supposed to see the doctor for a while. Erika reminded me I have a virtual with him today. I canceled that since there was no need. They asked if I wanted to do the x-ray which that table is even harder. Well I gotten to the point to where my butt was done for the day. So I wasn’t even going to x-rays. Also, pray that I do well with anesthesia. Pray they don’t have to use a breathing tube because that causes congestion in my throat. People with quadriplegia have a smaller lung capacity. In layman terms we can’t take as deep as a breath and cough as hard as the “normal person”. So with that there is the risk of choking! This surgery is going to take six hours since there are two surgeons, working back to back. The trauma orthopedic surgeon is going to go first. He’ll cut part of the femur bone off where it’s fused to the pelvis. Then he’s going to cut out my hip socket. After he’s done, the plastic surgeon will cover everything up with either skin, tissue, muscle whatever they can scrounge up! So thank you to all in advance for praying.

Until weekend may the Lord be with you. #GraceRelations
