Wednesday I had a wound appointment and my right hip is totally healed. We also talked to a nutritionist. I am trying to put on weight so she changed me to a plant-based formula. On Thursday I went to have my baclofen pump refilled. The wound therapist on Wednesday wanted us to take a picture of my spine because it looked like there was a foreign object showing. Before the pump got filled, Erika said let me show you this picture and it ended up being the anchor on the catheter that goes straight into my spinal cord. She said she can’t refill the pump and you need to go straight to the ER. The surgeon who has replaced all of my baclofen pumps was actually doing surgery that day at St. Vincent which is where I was told to go. So we ended up staying in the ER over 24 hours. Then on Friday the doctor came to the ER to explain that he had to ween me off of the baclofen and he would have to take out the whole baclofen pump. The doctor said it would take one to two weeks. He started to ween me off. He went from 800 to 500 Micro cc. We finally had gotten a room in which I slept good after a few medication’s. My dad came to visit as he was headed out of town. Saturday I slept most of the day. That evening I got a chance to talk to my brother Jon, sister-in-law Shannon, dad, and my cousin Kelly!! So on Sunday I slept all day. I was so incoherent that I wasn’t able to swallow oral meds, and they were afraid it was an effect of the baclofin dosage change, and because of that, I was transferred to the ICU so I could be monitored closer.
