Well I got off of bed rest on Sunday of last week but because of a stomach bug I didn’t get up until Friday. Well getting up did not go as planned last night when Erika put me in bed, she had noticed there was a lot of blood coming from under my leg and then there was a lot blood. The she saw that one of my incisions ripped open. It begin to pour blood so we called the ambulance and it came and got me and had them take me down to Methodist Hospital. In hindsight I think we should’ve gone to St. Vincents where I had the surgery done. But we like Methodist Hospital better and that’s actually where we had the first surgery so we felt comfortable going there. She was on the board of Indiana plastic surgeons but like I said in hindsight maybe we should’ve went to St. Vincent. So we called an ambulance to go to the hospital. So that was around 12:23 AM. They took a picture of the open incision site and sent it to the on-call plastic surgeon. Well the plastic surgeon wasn’t worried they said to do a wet to dry bandage. That’s when do you take gauze pads wet it a Little bit and put some water on it but don’t let it go all the way through.  We were quite familiar with that because we did it with the bed sores before. They said it would heal up by itself on top of that it already started clotting. That was good because I was bleeding quite a bit up until we got in the room. Erika brought my wheelchair up to the hospital so then when they told us we can go home we both didn’t want to get back in my chair. Because we didn’t want to get back in the chair only to have it open back up. So we told the doctor that and she said let me see what I can do. But then the nurse came in and packed it really good. He asked if we wanted to take an ambulance home we were relieved and said yes. However I fell asleep woke up and asked Erika what was the status of the ambulance. She said the ambulance would be there at 7 AM and it was only 4 AM. I said oh no we got to go she said it’s only 3 more hours 😳. Good thing she’s the voice of reason, right! But she had been awake the whole time. So I apologized because I know sometimes spouses get lost in the hustle and bustle and it’s also hard on them. I told her that mom would be proud of her which I never realize how close they were. She was telling me from time to time she would call my mom when she was struggling. But that was my moms only worry with me getting married was that I would find someone that would stick around despite the bad times. Because it was inevitable that a situation would come up that would test our marriage. So the ambulance picked me up and brought me to the hospital at 12:23 AM and left the hospital at 6:30 AM. When we were at the hospital I text my dad at 5 AM but I figured he’d still be asleep. So when we got home I called him at 6:59 AM and he picked up so I asked him if he could come hang out with me so that Erika could get some rest. So he came over at 9 AM. First thing Monday morning I’m going to call the plastic surgeon who did the surgery to see what to do!
